    Product Specialist / Project Manager


    Responsible for applications support of the freeze drying product lines, and will be the guru for applications understanding and how SP freeze dryers may be used.  Will be the primary support in this respect to Product Managers, Customers, and to direct and indirect sales teams.  The role will also assist operations & development / engineering teams with evaluation of new applications and new products.


    • Gather and systematically codify applications understanding for SP freeze dryers
      • Make it understandable and available to Customers and Sales Teams
      • Use it to build the brand reputation and sales of SP
    • Build performance database and understanding of freeze dryers and their application
      • Perform laboratory testing using freeze dryers
      • Analysis of data from tests (internal and / or customer data), forming hypothesis and designing further work
    • Identify and initiate opportunities for product / application improvements, new products and applications
    • Answer customer requests in a professional and timely manner, where appropriate running test work to support the customer.
    • Analyzes customers request determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
    • Interfaces with customer service, engineering, manufacturing, service to facilitate equipment orders (including special features) and support
    • Training of new distributors or SP personnel as required
    • Travel with Sales teams in support of Customers and sales
    • Hosts client visits and on-site demonstrations
    • Attends trade shows and conferences as an SP representative as required



    • Provides quotes and support with quotes
    • Presentation of work / applications at shows / customer sites / congresses
    • Liaise with external opinion leader, e.g. key academics or Customers
    • Assistance with FATs
    • Any other duties reasonably requested



    1 years’ experience working in scientific environment, ideally at the bench in a life science discipline

    Educated to Bachelors’ degree standard in Life Sciences or related discipline

    Aptitude to understand mechanical & electrical systems and their software

    Analytical thinker, numerate, can conduct analysis of data and then form reasonable hypothesis

    Good communication skills, written and oral, in person and vial ‘phone or e-mail.


    Strong verbal and written communications skills in the English language are a minimum.  Any fluency in foreign languages is a plus but not a requisite.  Must be able to write technical reports and business correspondence.  In addition must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.



    Has a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite software package in such programs as Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and Project
