Job Description


Director of Product Management



Reports to:         CMO


Location:            World Wide


The Director of Technical Marketing SP Scienceware is responsible for overseeing the planning, development and execution of the SP Scienceware marketing initiatives. Primary responsibility is to generate profitable revenue by increasing sales through successful; marketing, using market research, pricing, product marketing and public relations.

The ideal candidate must be both analytical and creative, possessing extensive knowledge in a variety of disciplines such as production, information technology, legal and finance with the ability to direct and coordinate marketing budgets in accordance to organizational goals.




  • Assume product ownership and manage the product lifecycle of a diverse portfolio of laboratory consumables used in research, healthcare and industry
  • Develop and communicate product plans and roadmaps aligned with strategic corporate objectives
  • Manage team of Product Managers and Product Analyst, creating a customer-focused culture of excellence, innovation and portfolio optimization
  • Drive and monitor product market prices and margins based on market intelligence and optimization for results
  • Collaborate with sales and commercial marketing to support and develop product positioning, packaging, pricing and merchandising initiatives applicable to primary distribution channels
  • Drive product adoption through technical marketing support including collaborating, monitoring and leveraging VOC insights
  • Track and synthesize market and end user purchasing, technology, competitive and laboratory trends to identify product market opportunities and drive actionable items
  • Lead cross functional teams including operations, sales, engineering and sourcing to achieve product objectives aligned with corporate objectives, vision and mission

A bachelor's degree or higher in Life Sciences related discipline and an advanced degree in marketing or business (MBA) is preferred. In addition, must have at least 5 years of marketing or business development experience in positions of increasing responsibility within the life science industry - with a focus on marketing expansion - as well as three to five years of experience in a leadership role. Time spent in the laboratory environment is also very desirable
