SUMMARY
The primary purpose of this position is to attend a variety of different sized plastic injection molding machines to produce a variety of plastic products, primarily for the medical and scientific communities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned Removes molded products from the molding machine and visually inspects,
de-gates and trims parts when necessary. May perform limited size inspection utilizing gages, micrometer calipers, or special fixtures. Bags parts and applies header cards or labels whenrequired. Performs post-molding operations such as the milling gates, drilling holes, inserting inserts, hand removal of mold components from parts, hot stamping, etc. at the molding machine andduring the molding cycle. Properly packs the finished or semi-finished parts into master cartons. May also operate a regrinding machine, rework or inspect other molded
parts and fill in on other machines as demand rises. Maintains production statistics and
prepares a report for the Lead Operator at the end of the shift.

May be assigned to assist in different areas of the facility as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (OED) are preferred. Some manufacturing experience is helpful, but not required. Must demonstrate a solid work history and attendance record. Must havedemonstrated full competence as a Machine Operator B prior to becoming a Machine Operator A. Previous experience elsewhere may be considered toward qualifying as a Machine Operator A.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos written in
English. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees and others.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
