Job Description

SUMMARY

-Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in assembling parts or in the production of plastic bottles, pipette pumps, desiccators and glass bottles.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following, other duties may be assigned:

 

-Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment. Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.

 

-Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

 

-Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.

 

-Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. Maintains time and production records. Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials. Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments. Sets up machines and equipment. Reports machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel.

 

-International Standards Organization (ISO) Compliance: Maintains high level of quality in the areas of documentation, inspections, and job performance, as required in procedures and work  instructions related to job functions.

 

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

-Performs activities of workers supervised when necessary. Performs and completes any other work assigned by management when requested. Performs general clean up of work area.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

-Directly supervises 10 to 15 employees in the Pre-Pack and Assembly Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

 

-Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

-To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
-Five or more years of directly related supervisory or coordination experience in a manufacturing environment.

 

-Several years experience in packing and shipping operations as well as inventory control systems, methods and procedures. Experience in employee selection and functional training is required.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS
-Ability to read and interpret documents such as general business correspondence, purchasing and sales reports, product inventory and orders, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
-Ability make calculations using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division both manually and with a basic calculator.

 

REASONING ABILITY
-Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
-A current driver's license is required for local travel.
