    SUMMARY

    Overall responsibility will include performing brazing operations and refrigeration assembly for Thermal’s small unit assembly line. The Thermal Brazer, Small systems will be held accountable for achievement of daily production, quality, cost and delivery requirements in support of the business operating plan. This position must be able to braze to precision with low flame to ensure there are no quality issues within the refrigeration system occur. This candidate must support and help foster a culture that embraces change and focuses on continuous operational improvements that further enhance the customer experience with SP’s products and services. They will also be tasked with as the subject matter expert for the area of small system brazing, train other associates as required, and assist in creating/editing work instructions, training plans, etc.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Braze to precision with low flame to ensure there are no quality issues within the refrigeration system.
    • Act as subject matter expert for the area of small system brazing, train other associates as required.
    • Assist in creating/editing work instructions, training plans, etc. for small system brazing and potentially large cell as required.
    • Ensures timely update of Tier 1 PIM boards for work orders assigned to them.
    • Helps drives 5S initiatives and floor/work area upkeep and maintenance
    • Capable of reading/interpreting blueprints/documentation to assist/facilitate themselves and other refrigeration personnel to perform assigned work.
    • Assist management in ensuring equipment, tooling, and machinery are periodically verified to insure optimal and safe performance; coordinates repairs/upgrades as required: ensures that equipment in use is current w/ calibration and in compliance for assigned area.
    • Insures work-in-progress is in compliance w/ engineering, quality, ISO and customer standards for self and others within the small systems refrigeration group while providing training.
    • Communicates actively trainees, leads, engineering and managers to ensure continuity of work and department priorities; assists in troubleshooting of refrigeration nonconformances and test failures.
    • Recommends measures to improve working conditions, production methods, efficiency, equipment performance, and quality of product; strives for continuous improvement.
    • Analyzes and assists in resolving work problems and assists others in small systems refrigeration in solving work problems.
    • Other tasks, projects, assignments at the Department, Division, and Company level as assigned by the Operations Manager or his/her designee.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Must have prior small systems refrigeration (8L or less) brazing experience.
    • Must understand refrigeration systems and have refrigeration assembly experience.
    • Perform assigned tasks with a high level of integrity and accountability.
    • Electro-mechanical aptitude
    • Solid communication and interpersonal skills

    • The shop contains mobile equipment, machinery, and high voltages.
    • The shop noise level is variable and may require hearing protection in some areas.
    • The shop is heated when required but many areas are not air conditioned.
    • Some shop processes use high voltage arcs or concentrated magnetic fields.
