          Director of Commercial Marketing for SP Industries

     

     

    Reports to: Chief Marketing Officer

    The Director of Commercial Marketing for SP Industries supports the global company wide sales team and our channel partners by developing, implementing and measuring an integrated marketing communications program to meet stated sales and profitability objectives. Working closely with technical marketing/product management and other key stakeholders in the organization, they will champion our suite of equipment and Life Sciences Apparatus internally and externally with passion, discipline and high ethical standards.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Plan and execute advertising, promotion, education and launch strategies to increase brand recognition, communicate the value proposition, and drive sales of new and existing products through print, digital and other venues including:
      • Sales literature, case studies, web content, videos, and other appropriate vehicles
      • Exhibits, presentations and special event planning for trade shows and conferences to maximize objectives
      • External relationships with publications, associations and web-based outlets that serve the target end user markets
      • Growth of educational demand creation strategy working cross functionally to improve, execute and measure ROI for Hands-on Training, Webinar series and other initiatives as planned
    • Work with Technology Manager to provide timely content supporting brands and SP capabilities based on metrics and end user engagement
    • Support strategic relationships with individual end users as well as targeted industry associations and on-line user groups to capture voice of customer, respond to queries with clear answers and solutions and establish brand champions within the marketplace
    • Foster mutually beneficial relationships with complementary; apparatus, equipment and service providers
    • Forecast, measure, analyze and report on the impact of demand creation activities on the sales pipeline and revenue, adjusting programs as required to respond to changing market conditions and emerging opportunities
    • Provide voice of customer data working with sales and technical marketing utilizing surveys and other appropriate techniques, monitoring SP’s position in the marketplace as well as marketing, product and technology trends synthesizing to assess impact and opportunities relative to SP with proposed actionable strategies
    • Support other SP brands and work cross functionally to leverage opportunities across the organization and enhance SP end user value
    • Internally champion the brands by communicating successes and opportunities to the sales team as well as upper management
    • Works with SP Scientific Marketing Team to develop budget, prioritize initiatives and execute with fiscal responsibility
    • Additional responsibilities as warranted to fulfill sales and marketing initiatives; Approximately 30% travel required

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to present scientific products and information in a clear, concise format
    • Experience in pharma/knowledge of freeze drying with advanced degree in scientific discipline/life science marketing background preferred
    • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, tracking and meeting deadlines
    • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office including powerpoint and excel, Adobe Acrobat, database management (Dynamic)
    • Experience/knowledge utilizing web site as a primary marketing strategy and developing end user content
    • Prior work experience in B to B setting utilizing direct and technical distribution
