  • Job Description





    The role is predominantly focussed on tactical procurement. Your key responsibilities are to ensure timely delivery of materials to enable customer orders to be fulfilled on time, whilst monitoring costs and minimising stock holding.


    You will monitor all purchase orders (POs) and highlight any issues impacting expected delivery dates and / or changes to current standards. You will provide management reports and measure performance to highlight how the supply chain team and suppliers are performing.


    You will work closely with the production team and Sales Administration to manage internal communication, ensuring that the customer is given a high level of focus. You should understand how to manage the MPS, ERP, how Kanban (KB) is utilised to pull material to ensure that target shipment dates and pull forwards are met.


    Key tasks


      • Working to all procurement processes.
      • Liaise closely with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods to meet production, R&D and other company requirements.
      • Provide an update on progress on incoming goods to the relevant departments.
      • Kanban & 2-bin management - Manage supply of floor stock items and any KB controlled parts.
      • Purchasing of indirect material.
      • Create purchase orders from requisitions.
      • Feedback any changes to requirements to requester.
      • Work with Finance to resolve and invoice queries.
    • Manage the rejects/non-conformances process and highlight issues to the appropriate teams as you close out RJNs.


    • Expedite the flow of materials and processes within internal departments, this will mean a high level of personal involvement.
    • Other activities to help in the smooth running of the supply chain team.


    Essential Skills:


    Must be computer literate.

    Possess good communication and negotiating skills.

    Able to multi task and works well under pressure.

    Proactive at looking for improvement opportunities.


    Ideal Experience:

    • Procurement of products within a manufacturing environment.
    • Customer service and administration.

    • Computer literate
    • Good communication skills - both verbal and written
    • Able to work with minimal supervision




    In the course of your duties you will be required to wear safety shoes on the shop floor, and follow all Health & Safety, PPP and ESD procedures in force as per company rules.
