SUMMARY

 

This new Web Project Lead role is responsible for managing the website structure and content for the new SP website in support of Sales, Marketing, Portfolio Management and the diverse range of end-user and distributor customers. Working collaboratively, this position has the ability to make a real difference by elevating the digital presence of SP and have a direct impact on driving sales growth by effectively merchandising, promoting and communicating the value proposition of our products across this new One SP web platform. A focus on delivering accurate and complete product data plus well organized and high-quality engaging SEO content is critical in this role.

 

The SP customer base spans research, industry and healthcare professionals throughout the world with SP Industries’ synergistic collection of fill-finish drug manufacturing solutions, freeze dryers, durable benchtop equipment, laboratory apparatus and scientific glassware to keep their manufacturing and research running smoothly and efficiently. 

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for someone who loves being “the ultimate organizer” to manage a new website and ecommerce implementation project from start to finish, as SP embarks on a single website platform development to bring together a number of existing SP websites/micro-sites under one URL. SP have invested in a new SaaS platform that combines enterprise commerce, rich content management, search and merchant insights all in one high-performance system to power both eCommerce and retail experiences for our customers across the diverse SP product range. This position will be ideal for a person who loves all aspects of the web design/development/implementation process as well as managing the website on a day-to-day basis from the 2021 go-live to deliver the best online experience for our global end-user customers, distributor partners and all other stakeholders. Having a passion for learning about the scientific sectors that SP serves is important to ensure the digital presence of SP continually meets with the specific and sometimes changing needs of our audiences.

Working across all SP family brand teams, this role will ultimately suit someone who takes pride in being super-efficient and organized, is an exceptional project manager and has strong communication skills. Working in partnership with our external system integrator and SaaS commerce platform partners, this role is a key new position within our Commercial Marketing team.  Working alongside the internal commercial marketing team, and in-house product content data administrator, you will need to be engaged with our entire product portfolio team located predominantly in the US, with other colleagues based in the UK and Spain.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following, other duties may be assigned:

  • Lead and project manage the design and implementation process of a new website project working with external web development team and commerce partners
  • Work with relevant SP colleagues and external partners to deliver an exceptional eCommerce experience for online customers
  • Work with relevant SP colleagues and external partners to deliver a functional website solution that is easy to navigate and showcases SP products and services perfectly
  • Regular project updates and website analytics reporting to senior management
  • Work alongside other SP colleagues with new PIM/DAM platform, Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM and other integrations as needed
  • Work closely with sales and portfolio teams to facilitate a smoother sales process, improved customer experience and increased online sales
  • Working closely with Director of Commercial Marketing and Finance teams to manage project financials and deliver the new website implementation project on time and on budget
  • Develop a Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) strategy to track and convert web visits to sales
  • Initiate and manage an SEO program to increase visibility and generate the right website traffic
  • Implement systems to ensure the management and quality control of all content uploaded to maintain a high quality presence for SP and ensure increased engagement with all audiences
  • Day to day management of website/s from launch and management of any external consultants/partners/agencies
  • Training of SP teams on new Commerce platform
  • Some travel to other SP locations and web partners will be required
  • Develop additional skills, certifications and other banks of knowledge in the online industry by attending professional conferences, leading seminars with colleagues, keeping any relative qualifications and certificates up to date as well as being personally motivated towards continuous learning and personal development to improve SP’s digital presence

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

  • At least 5 years of experience managing web and digital projects
  • Knowledge and experience essential across enterprise ecommerce platforms, CMS, data feeds
  • Any knowledge and experience of the Ruby on Rails web application framework and/or the WorkArea enterprise commerce platform an advantage but not essential
  • Experience with Product Information Management/Data Assets Management (PIM/DAM) platforms and CRM integrations is desirable
  • Microsoft Office including Powerpoint and Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and content database management
  • Any knowledge and experience of Microsoft Dynamics 365 an advantage but not essential
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential and confident in delivering presentations and reports as required to senior management
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, tracking and meeting deadlines
  • Experience/knowledge to oversee/review web copy development to maximize search engine optimization (SEO) preferred
  • Experience/knowledge of social media and digital marketing tools including email
  • Prior work experience in BtoB/BtoC setting utilizing distribution channel preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Digital Marketing or relevant field

Any additional required training is as determined appropriate by the immediate supervisor with inputs from, but not limited to the individual, management, personnel, or the safety committee.
